Willowdale is a real home from home, offering a friendly, nurture and enriching atmosphere for your loved one. A former farmhouse in the town of Buckley, near Mold in North Wales, it has been lovingly converted to create the caring, comfortable residence that it is today. The privacy and personal choice of those living here is respected at all times, and the team is attentive and engaging.
There are several communal areas, including two lounges and a dining room, to enable residents to socialise and share their hobbies with one another.
We actively encourage the continuation of residents’ favourite hobbies, as well as providing an array of activities such as reminiscence therapy, poetry, pet therapy and music. People here especially enjoy afternoon tea outdoors when the weather permits.
The home has landscaped gardens are easily accessible, and attract abundant wildlife throughout the year.
Our residents are particularly keen to make their own bird feeders and garden accessories to ensure nature thrives.
We encourage your loved one to personalise their room with belongings brought with them. This adds to the warm, nurturing and homely feel of our surroundings. There is wi-fi throughout the home, so that loved ones can keep in touch via video and phone calls, and messaging. We also have laptops for people to use if they wish to surf the internet or shop online with support.
Family members and friends are welcome to visit as and when they like. Drinks and snacks are always available, and we are happy to provide meals for visitors by prior arrangement.

I have been at Willowdale since 2024, I love working here, it’s one big happy family at our home. I have worked in the care sector for over 40 years, my very first position was a Care Support Worker. I have worked in a majority of sectors, ranging from learning disabilities to drugs and alcohol rehabilitation, and also mental health support. This is where my passion thrived, working alongside people who had been diagnosed with different forms of Dementia. I pursued my career as a Senior Care Assistant, and progressed to my position now as Home Manager. I am committed to providing person centered care and want to know as much as possible about your loved one so we can provide the very best care, tailored to their needs.
