Welcome to Rider House Nursing Home

At Rider House Nursing Home, we provide a high standard of care in a relaxed, friendly environment, ensuring people continue to enjoy the freedom and lifestyle of their choice.

Rider House is a purpose-built care home and enjoys views across the River Trent, and is opposite the tranquil Stapenhill Gardens. The people who live here love to look out over nature during the changing seasons, spotting wildlife or enjoying walks with their loved ones. We are ideally situated in the heart of our community and perfectly nestled between gorgeous gardens and ancient woodland to the rear of the property.

Popular activities at our home include quizzes and puzzles, arts and crafts and singing. We are lucky enough to have our own choir, as well as numerous opportunities for residents to enjoy their favourite pastimes with friends at the home.

The people who live here are especially creative and we complete all sorts of seasonal projects for our loved ones and community to admire. Rider House hosts visiting entertainers and we are always keen to listen to residents’ thoughts and ideas to enrich our packed programme.

There is wi-fi throughout the home, so your loved ones can keep in touch via video and phone calls. We also have laptops for people to use if they wish to surf the internet or do a little online shopping.

Family members and friends are welcome to visit as and when they like. Drinks and snacks are always available and we are happy to provide meals for visitors by prior arrangement.

Amanda Bisson

Amanda Bisson has worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years. She has worked in general medicine, progressing to oncology, chemotherapy, palliative and EOL care nurse specialist and has been at Rider House since December 2018.

She says: "I have seen immense changes at Rider House, supported by the management team and the wonderful, caring staff that Rider has. This ensures that we always strive to be the best we can, providing the love and care that we all work hard to achieve and is expected from our residents, their families, and our supportive community. My career progression enables me to provide the best care we can for all residents regardless of their needs and ill health, ensuring that they are supported to live as well and happy as they deserve. I am constantly seeking to get the best from the staff, but in a manner that recognises their value and worth so that their enthusiasm and genuine care helps us all to achieve our intended aims.”
