Summer Fields Care Home offers a warm, nurturing environment within a beautiful period property set in well-kept and secluded grounds. Located within the quiet, well-established residential area of Rock Ferry, near Birkenhead in the Wirral, Summer Fields has been sympathetically restored, retaining original features while complying with all modern health and safety regulations.
There are gardens to the front and rear of the property for people to enjoy, full of plants, trees and wildlife. People living here can also enjoy a large decked area, which is very popular for listening to a singer the home has arranged in the afternoon, or enjoying drinks on a cool summer evening.
We actively encourage the continuation of favourite hobbies and pastimes, as well as the discovery of new activities.
We have a dedicated activities room for arts and crafts, including drawing, sewing, sculpting or painting, as well as communal areas for those living here to socialise. This room converts into a cinema for movie days, and we have a large projection screen and surround sound for the occasion. We particularly love to dance, and celebrate an array of genres. There isn’t much that doesn’t get our toes tapping!
Rooms are bright and warmly decorated, and we encourage people to bring personal items to ensure that they feel at home immediately. There is wi-fi throughout the home, so your loved ones can keep in touch via video and phone calls, and messaging with support. We also have laptops for people to use if they wish to surf the internet or shop online with support.
Family members and friends are welcome to visit as and when they like. Drinks and snacks are always available, and we are happy to provide meals for visitors by prior arrangement.

Andy Newbolt began his care career 18 years ago and has completed NVQs in Health and Social Care and a Diploma Level 5 in Management and Leadership. He has been at Summer Fields since 2018.
He says: “I enjoy being a part of a team that is making the lives of our residents as happy and comfortable as possible, ensuring that their care needs are met each and every day. Over the years I have developed a vast knowledge of dementia and what it takes to provide an excellent standard of care to those who are vulnerable and dependent on others. I have progressed from kitchen assistant to senior care team and now home manager. I really do love my job and the challenges it brings each day - every day really is different. It means so much when you see the people you look after not only living happily, but thriving. I have an incredibly dedicated team working alongside me. They, and the rewards of the job, are why I will always enjoy this job.”
