Abbey Court is a high-quality nursing and residential home situated on the leafy outskirts of Derby City just a stone’s throw from the City’s University.
Abbey Court is all about feeling comfortable, in warm, friendly, safe surroundings. Our experienced team will always encourage you to be as independent as possible, whilst being there to support you as and when you need it, in a discrete and dignified way. Our carers and nurses are available around the clock to help, giving peace of mind to you and your loved ones that you are in safe hands.
Many people who live at Abbey Court enjoy socialising together and engaging in activities, whilst others prefer things a little quieter. We have a conservatory that overlooks our courtyard garden, aswell as two lounges and a dining area. We will help you keep up with your own hobbies and interests, whilst also potentially introducing you to new ones through our in-house clubs and activities program. You are free to get involved as little or as much as you want, there are trips out to local parks, shops, places of interest. We also have visiting entertainers, which ranges from singers, dance groups, local schools, theatre groups and pantomime's.
We offer home-cooked and nutritionally balanced meals, and have a wide variety on food on offer everyday, always ensuring there is something to tickle your taste buds.
Abbey Court has undergone a refurbishment over the past 12 months, and has with newly decorated rooms available for you to move into. All rooms have fully adjustable electronic beds for your comfort, with specialist pad or airflow mattresses as standard to ensure you can have a restful nights sleep. Other facilities at the home include lifts to all floors, specialist wet rooms and a hydrotherapy bath.

I have always enjoyed being a nurse and working with the elderly has always been something I have been passionate about. I am a qualified as a RMN and have worked in all clinical areas of mental health, from elderly, rehabilitation, acute and perinatal care. I have always put everything into my roles, improving my knowledge and understanding of mental health through research and continuous professional development. I really love working at Abbey Court, we have an excellent team and everyone works together to achieve the best for the people who live here.
